Fashion Technology is a deep, craft program designed to create a 360° garment professional. Students hone all the skills to conceive dresses, tailored garments, streetwear and knitwear, both for women and men. Mastering techniques such as cutting & sewing, 3D printing, draping, pattern making, print design, and embroidery, beyond having a deep knowledge of raw materials and product development processes, is essential for every quality-driven brand, which is why this is a very in-demand role on the job market today.
The Fashion Technology course fosters the pleasure of making things exactly like in an atelier. As the technical level rises in each student from the first to the third year, a specialisation is chosen among the many categories of fashion products (including men’s suiting, women’s underwear, kid’s outwear etc.), in order to develop the portfolios and execute the final project as a tableau vivant performance, presented before a large audience.
Classes are all run by teachers from the industry in the new open space Design Lab. Students receive a welcome kit with tools and materials to begin, and have access to expert guest lectures, an immense library, the computer lab, as well as production machines. This course has an intense program of reviews, workshops, field trips and collaborations with companies organised throughout the three years.
Candidates with a secondary-school (high school) diploma or equivalent are eligible and selected after an enrolment questionnaire and an interview with the course’s leading teacher. English language proficiency is required. Lessons take place from October to June, and amount to a total of 600 contact hours. The course is completed with an internship in a fashion company at the end of the third year. Each academic year is worth 60 credits.

Upon successful completion of the undergraduate course, students will be able to:
- Master construction and patternmaking techniques to translate a designer’s sketch into the full realization of a garment.
- Create and develop complex patterns both manually and through digital software.
- Use crafting techniques on fabrics, accessories and construction elements, from draping to embroidery and manipulation.
- Master techniques in the areas of bespoke tailoring, couture, RTW, costume design and historical garments
- Create a professional portfolio.
Based on the student’s abilities, experience and the skills acquired, graduates of Fashion Technology can qualify as Pattern Makers, Textile Specialists, Materials Purchasers, Quality Controllers, CAD Designers, Garment Technologists, and Product Testers in the workplace. Their careers can then develop into being Cutting Room Managers, Technical Directors, Product Development Managers, Heads of Innovation, or alternatively can pursue independent careers as Bespoke Tailors.
